Conservation and management efforts are essential to protect Amazonian wetlands from changes in land use, river damming, pollution, and climate change. The purpose of this project is to improve wetland mapping and understanding of human, economic, and environmental risks to guide conservation policies and better management of this vital ecosystem through targeted communication, dialogue, and mobilization strategies. It is also expected to contribute to progress in the implementation of the thirty-five Ramsar sites in the Amazon basin and their expansion to critical areas.
